Support Yourself!

There are many ways to support yourself while dealing with pain or even just a stressful situation. Many people just suppress the stress or pain as much as possible rather than taking steps to heal by facing it head on. By doing so we are just adding more blocks which dam up our natural energy flow. As an energy coach, I want to support you as we clear these paths. Here are just a few ways you can support your body physically and emotionally.
1. Find a support group! This can be online or in person whichever feels right for you. When you have someone to talk to about similar issues the fear of facing the pain/stress alone can began to minimize. Feeling like you are all alone is a very helpless feeling that can then lead to depression or anxiety; but finding a person that you connect with to share these feelings with can truly be life altering.
2. Take time for yourself to find the beautiful and positive things in your life! Your outlook can be lifted when you find the many blessings and love in your life. Be careful not to turn it into a negative. For example, if you are thinking how lucky you are to have such happy children and then let your mind turn to "but if only I wasn't sick/hurting/exhausted/etc. then I could make them so much happier." This is very easy to do when you have been struggling for so long. Be aware of yourself and just simply say "Stop, I am not going there." and refocus on the positives.
3. Practice deep breathing! When we focus on slowing our breathing, we in turn relax our body. Oxygen is invaluable to every cell in our bodies and when people are in pain/stress breathing can become less efficient. Here are a few tips to help practice deep breathing and allow oxygen to flow freely throughout our body.
